Name:Zhou Jinfeng,Female,68 years of age.
The patient complained of diffculty in swallowing things for the past 5 months and was c
-onfirmed of esophageal carcinoma at the Outpatient Department of the Affiliated Changhai
Hospital of the 2nd Military Medical University in Shanghai on Des.4th,2000. The case was
hospitalized with a diagnosis of a tumor in the intermediate part of the esophagus on Dec
.6th and a resection of esophageal carcinoma was performed on Dec.12th the same year. The
surgery evealed a hard mass of 4cm x 2.2cm under the aortic arch. The tunica fibrosa had
been involved and lymphadenovarix was found along the mediastinum. The tumor had almost o
-bstructed the esophagus and a mass of 5 x 5cm was palpated in the head of the pancreas w
-nodules on the outside and partially adhered with the back wall of the stomach.The inter
-mediate and lower part of the esophagus was removed,the stomach was freed and the operat
-ionwas a success.The tumor was pathologically classified as a moderately differentiated
squamous carcinoma in the intermediate part of the esophagus. Medication with Opnipotenti
-al Anticarcinoma Oral Liquor started 5 days affer the surgery and the patient＇s conditi
-on improved remarkably .Both ultrasonic Type B scanning and CT examination detected no a
-bnormal findings till Feb.18th ,2001, wich means the patient has fully recovered.
